My name is Michael McSwain and I was born in Cullman, Alabama.Due to being an Army brat, I moved all over the Southeast. Moving every few years helped me to develop a love of making new friends and adapting to my new environments. My first girlfriend helped to introduce me to photography. She was an aspiring model and asked me to get a camera and take pictures of her so she could practice her posing. I bought my first 35 SLR, used of course and started taking pictures. Soon there after, we broke up and now I'm stuck with a real passion and desire to continue my new found craft. Thankfully I had many friends that allowed me to shoot them for fun. A few classes, glamour workshops and many pictures later, I started to actually take money for my work.
My real passion is to take a non professional model and turn them into something they only dreamed they could be. Nothing pleases me more than to see the expressions on their faces when they see the final results.
It is my belief that the very best photographers not only have a distinctive style, but that they have a sincere love of dealing with and directing their subjects in a comfortable way, while producing unbelievable photographs.
